Porta-Gantry Assembly Videos

|

|
3 Tonne WLL version assembly. | 5 Tonne with mechanical assembly. |
When moving the Reid Porta-Gantry underload, the following instructions MUST be followed:
- This product can only be moved in the direction perpendicular to the beam.
- Directional locks must be used on the castors (perpendicular to the beam only).
- The end user MUST make sure the center of gravity of the load is known and the lifting points are in such a way that the load is EQUALLY distributed, so the load generates a vertical pull to the beam.
- The load is not allowed to swing.
- The floor must be smooth, flat, free from cracks or steps and the weather conditions should be safe for the operation (i.e. not when frost, ice or snow present).
- A risk assessment and method statement are required to be completed by a competent person before moving the gantry under load.
- The gantry’s movement must be controlled at a slow speed, no sudden movements or high speeds are allowed.
Festoon System |
|
The Festoon System has been designed to keep electric hoist power cords safely away from lifting operations and stored neatly along the gantry beam. The universal Festoon System includes all the required components including; trollies, wire rope and fasteners. By then adding the power cable the system is ready for use.
Ratchet Height Adjustment |
|
The Ratchet Height Adjustment provides a mechanical aid for raising and lowering the height of the Gantry beam. The Ratchet Height Adjustment comes as a standard feature on a range of A-frames and can be added as a feature on the entire PORTAGANTRY product range. See details in dimensions table.
Lobed Cheek Plates |
|
The Lobed Cheek Plates allow for ease of assembly when adjusting the operating span of the PORTAGANTRY system. The modified cheek plates allow the clear operating span to be adjusted by moving one frame in, whilst still allowing the standard assembly methods to be observed.
Wind-up Jack Legs |
|
The Wind-up Jack Legs offer infinite additional height adjustment up to 250mm. The Wind-up Jack Legs offer independent adjustment for use as a levelling system on uneven ground. The Wind-up Jack Leg retracts beyond the base of the castors and so does not restrict the movement of the system. |
|
Directional Lock Castors |
|
The Directional Lock Castors allow for our swivel castors to be made into a fixed castor temporarily - by locking the swivel head but not the wheel which means the castor moves in one direction. Directional locking castors are great for cornering or pivoting.
Winch Conversion Kit |
|
The Gantry beams are prepared to accept a sheave carrier and A-frames a wide range of winch brackets. This Winch Conversion kit enables our Gantry to be converted for winched use for either goods or personnel lifting.
Trolley Rope Control System |
|
The Rope Control System allows precise control over the movement of the load trolley from a safe location next to the A-frame. By utilising a series of pulleys and a hand winch a mechanical advantage is added to the system reducing the effort during operations. This system not only adds a method of controlled movement of the load but also removes the need to manually handle the lifted load increasing the safety of the system. |

Split/Jointed Top Beams
- These beams are not suitable for fall arrest (EN795), goods only applications.
- Optimal split beam lengths are jointed at 2/3, but can be split as required - see below for limits).
- Available only as D section and A section beams (B section beams are not offered as split beams).
- D section beams have a maximum overall joined length of 10m and maximum rating 1500kg.
- A section beams have a maximum overall jointed length of 9m, with the maximum length before the join of 6 metres and carry a maximum WLL of 1000kg. Split lengths longer than 6m have a maximum WLL of 500kg.

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
