Our range of snatch blocks, sheave blocks, and crane pulley blocks is designed for professional lifting, rigging, and pulling applications. These products are engineered for use with wire rope systems where load direction changes, mechanical advantage, and increased lifting capacity are required.

Snatch blocks are a versatile type of sheave block used to deflect or redirect a wire rope. They are available in tailboard designs, with top hook suspension, or shackle-suspended configurations. Snatch blocks are widely used for lifting operations when suspended from a hook, but are equally effective in pulling and winching applications.

Multiple snatch blocks or crane pulley blocks can be rigged in a multi-reeved arrangement to increase the system’s safe working load (SWL). Each additional reeve of the wire rope through a sheave block increases the effective lifting capacity of the hoist or winch. For this reason, crane pulley blocks are commonly reeved multiple times in heavy-duty lifting applications where higher capacities are required.

It is important to note that while increased reeving improves lifting capacity, each additional reeve reduces the lifting speed by approximately 50%.
