The Tirfor® Principle - A Tirfor® has neither wheels nor gears. Two jaws alternately pull the wire rope and the load in the required direction, just like pulling on a rope with both hands. The jaws are self clamping, proving immediate and gradual safety. The heavier the load , the tighter they clamp. A release mechanism allows the wire rope to be inserted between the jaws.
Features: Constant control of the load during lifting and lowering with accuracy to within one millimetre, when stationary the load is automatically distributed between the two jaw units, overload safety device, TU range approved for lifting personnel in most countries.
Tirak X Series has an unlimited height of lift because the wire rope is not stored in the machine, centrifugal brake for controlled descent in case of power failure and pendant control with up/down and emergency stop.
Lighter than the T-series, the X-series are most suited for bosun's chairs, inspection harnesses, one-man cradles and light suspended platforms.
The TRACTEL double safety descender device has a hinged mechanism. It enables upwards and downwards movements on a 9~12 mm halyard. This descender device is equipped with an anti-panic safety mechanism (i.e. if the operator tensely grips the control handle of the apparatus, the descender device will block) and with a dead man’s handle (i.e. if the operator releases the control handle, the apparatuswill stop).
The powered models of the TIRFOR machines complement the manual units for heavy loads, such as operating large work platforms, lifting shuttering, moving machinery, etc.Depending on the application, the working conditions and the power available, powered operation can be electro-hydraulic or pneumatic.Key Benefits: Saves time and labour; No operator fatique; Continuous operation; Increaded safety; One powerpack can power 4 Tirfor units all pulling/lifting the same load.
