Offshore & Subsea Hydraulic Chain Hoist - ROV SS C4 QP Hydraulic Chain Block
The William Hackett ROV SS C4 QP hydraulic chain hoist is a purpose-built hydraulic chain block engineered for offshore and subsea lifting operations. Designed, manufactured, and proof-load tested in the UK, this hydraulic chain hoist offers unmatched reliability, precision control, and safety for remotely operated vehicle (ROV) subsea deployments.
Ideal for offshore rigs, subsea installations, and deepwater projects, the SS C4 QP ensures safe, efficient lifting in the harshest underwater environments.
Advanced Four-Pawl Hydraulic Chain Hoist for Subsea Applications
The SS C4 QP hydraulic chain block features a patented four-pawl mechanical engagement system designed to maximise reliability during offshore and subsea operations. All four pawls engage the ratchet gear in an offset configuration, allowing:
- Precise load adjustment and tensioning
- Continuous pawl-to-ratchet engagement
- Greater operational resilience and reduced risk of failure
- Enhanced safety during critical subsea lifting operations
This advanced design positions the chain hoist as a top choice for subsea lifting and ROV manipulation tasks in offshore industries.
Key Features
- Light load capability: tested and certified at 2% of the chain hoist's rated capacity.
- Quad Pawl (QP): Endurance tested to twice the industry norm.
- Marine Paint:
- AkzoNobel Interpon Redox Triplex
- Corrosion Resistance 1,000 hours according to DIN EN ISO 9227. - Hyperbaric Tested: at 3,000 metre water depths.
- Optional Equipment: Hot Stab, Fishtail, D Link and Torque Buckets, as well as bespoke fittings such as ROV Shank Hooks, Shackles and Sling Hooks.
- New Design Feature: As an option for the ROV chain hoist, a hand wheel can be incorporated into the chain hoist design. When the hoist is topside, the hand chain can be fitted to the hand wheel to allow manual adjustment of the load chain.
- Stainless Steel Fixings: used throughout the hoist.
- Brake Components: Corrosion-protected.
- Safety Latches: hooks are fitted with heavy-duty cast steel latches. The latch and hook tip are integrated, creating a strong and robust hook closure.
- Hook Overload and Traceability Markings: hooks have overload indicator marks on either side of the hook throat (500kg to 10t). Both top and bottom hooks are embossed with a batch code, manufacturer's mark and the working load limit for full traceability and compliance to international standards.
- Hand Chain Joiner: A unique hand chain joiner is used as a quick and secure method of joining the hand chain.
- Hook Housing: secured with socket head cap screws/hex head bolts and Nyloc insert locking nuts to allow full inspection.
- Fleeting and Cross Hauling: independently tested (test report 2550-7615) for fleeting or cross hauling applications up to 45° from the vertical without deration of the WLL.
- Load Chain: Corrosion-protected Grade 8 load chain offered as standard. With the option of Calibrated Grade S (6) 316L stainless steel load chain and hand chain.
- Overload Limiter: available as an option upon request.
- Manufactured and Proof-tested in the U.K.
