Beam Trolleys and Crane Bridges, Push, Geared & Electric
This category features beam trolleys, which are specialised load suspension devices designed to carry equipment beneath them as they move along a monorail/runway lifting beam. This beam can be made from materials such as rolled steel joists (RSJ), universal beams (UB), or universal columns (UC). In our online catalogue, we offer four distinct types of beam trolley: manual push/pull, geared travel (driven by the pulling of a hand chain), electric and pneumatic (air-powered).
Beam trolleys act as mobile anchorage points, easily attached to an RSJ runway beam to support devices like a chain hoist. This design allows for smooth movement along the beam’s length.
You may come across different names for beam trolleys, including load trolleys, beam runners, 'I' beam crane trolleys, beam flange rollers, girder monkeys or a chain block trolley.
In this section, we not only focus on manual push/pull trolleys and geared travel runway trolleys, which operate with a chain drive similar to how a chain block does, but also on electric and pneumatically driven trolleys. Geared trolleys provide enhanced control, especially when handling larger loads, as they are moved along the beam by a hand chain.
Most trolleys are adjustable, with some designed for quick release, but we also supply heavy-duty and low-headroom options, along with swivel truck trolleys for navigating tight radius curved bends on runway beam or track when necessary, all of which can be either manual or powered electrically or air-powered.
If you are looking for a means to suspend a load or a piece of lifting equipment, but don't necessarily need it to move, then a beam clamp might be more suited to your needs, and they are far more cost-effective than a beam trolley.
