Self-Retracting Lifeline Fall Arrest Blocks with Rescue Winch to EN360 and EN1496
Introducing our fall arrest block (often also referred to as inertia reels), designed and certified to EN360 / EN1496, which comes with a built-in rescue winching handle to facilitate the quick recovery of individuals after a fall. These retrieval blocks are commonly utilised with confined space tripod systems, but they can also function independently as effective fall arrest and rescue solutions. With the winch integrated into the inertia reel, users are well-prepared with a rescue plan, aligning with the Working at Height Directive.
By employing fall arrest inertia reels, you benefit from reduced fall distances compared to many other systems, resulting in a lower risk of injury and a streamlined rescue process.
Our selection includes options specifically sealed for offshore and outdoor applications, as well as lightweight and robust models suitable for harsher environments.
A rescue block is commonly used in confined spaces with our tripod and man-riding winch, though it has many other applications for providing fall protection with an integrated rescue plan, I.e, after a fall has occurred, the winch would be used to perform the rescue.
The in-built winch element can only be used for emergency rescue and must not be used to man-ride a person (winched/suspended access and egress). For this, you would need a dedicated man-riding winch.
If you do not require the EN1496 rescue winch function, then a standard EN360 fall arrest block or personal fall arrestor might be just what you are looking for.

Miller MightyEvac Self-retracting blocks are lightweight and can be used in conjunction with the NM10 aluminium tripod or used totally independent to provide a means of rescue for persons working at height.
The MightyEvac is a fall arrest block equipped with an integrated emergency rescue winch. The inertia reel will arrest the fall, the retrieval winch provides a means of rescuing the casualty, thus providing a fall arrest and rescue plan!
Through Sala we offer the sealed fall arrest reel with rescue winch, optionally certified for ATEX environments. Sealed bloc technology for Sala prevents the dirt and grime from entering the mechanical working of the inertia reel. Supplied with cable lengths from 15 to 39 metres long.
