Machinery Moving Skates, Materials Skates & Load Moving Skates

Quick Ref: CN-24
Machinery and machine moving skates (rollers) of all types and to suit all budgets, good choice on price and quality. Buy online today with fast, free delivery.

Load moving skates are a piece of mechanical handling equipment used to transport heavy machinery and other items in the work area.

Machinery skates mainly use nylon, polyurethane or steel wheels or castors, though we also have another option that is fitted with roller tracks, which work similarly to tank tracks. These are caterpillar skates; they are more economical than traditional machine skates and are ideal for general workshop moving jobs, all types of machine tools, fabrication, etc.

Depending on customer requirements, we offer load moving systems with fixed and swivel castors or indeed a combination of both. Machinery skate sets usually include one front steerable skate and a pair of fixed wheel rear trailing skates with a tie bar.

Most of our materials skates are designed to be manually manoeuvred (push/pull), though most can be assisted by a tug or forklift truck.

Materials load moving skates work best on a flat, smooth surface free from dirt or other obstructions, but it's also worth bearing in mind that small stones or metal fragments can easily become lodged in a wheel, which can cause damage or reduce the functionality of the skates, making them harder to move.

From Lifting Safety, you can also buy many individual skates online, or roller pinch bars to manually raise a load enough for the skates to be placed, or a toe jack if a skate can't quite fit underneath, and materials movers, otherwise sometimes referred to as materials scoots (or scoots) that are designed to be used in pairs.

We have tried to compile a range suitable for all professions and budgets. Please contact our sales or technical staff if you need any assistance or a quotation.
