Letcart 250

A load arresting device for loads up to 250kg and designed along the same principle as the Tractel Blocfor range, self-reeling with a centrifugal locking mechanism to quickly arrest a falling object.

Load Arrestors

The Letcart 250 is designed to protect equipment, such as lighting trusses, roller shutter doors and machinery, from the effects of a fall. The Letcart 250 is used as a secondary safety device to arrest the load following the unexpected failure of the primary load-bearing system.

Function:

The load arrestor Letcart 250 has been designed to secure suspended loads. Should the load fall down, then the blocmat will hold the load in suspension.

Description and principle of use:

The Letcart 250 is a retractable load arrestor. The length of the wire rope is adjusted automatically by a tensioning and retracting system. The locking function is provided by two catches which engage in a ratchet wheel by the operation of centrifugal force caused by the acceleration of the load. The function which absorbs the shock when the load is stopped is provided by a multi-disc braking system. The Letcart 250 is attached to a structure through a connector or a fixing bracket for the tube Ø 52 mm. The blocmat must be reconditioned immediately by an authorised person after a fall arrest. A non-sparking version is available as an option.

• The structure where the blocmat 250 is anchored to shall be dimensioned to support a vertical force of 40kn.

Load Arrestors

The Letcart S is designed to protect equipment, such as lighting trusses, roller shutter doors and machinery, from the effects of a fall. The Blocmat S is used as a secondary safety device to arrest the load following the unexpected failure of the primary load-bearing system.

Function

This range with 500, 800 and 1000 kg W.L.L has been designed to be suspended to a structure through a rectangular fixing plate.

Description and Principle of Use

The "Letcart S " type is composed of:

• An automatic fall arrest device.
• A rope reeling drum.
• A reliable rectangular fixing plate.

A centrifugal device continuously monitors the speed at which the wire rope passes through the fall arrest device and automatically triggers the closing of the jaw on the wire rope as soon as the speed exceeds a given threshold. The brake jaw grips over a large contact area, causing no damage to the wire rope.

A drilled fixing plate allows the complete system to be anchored to support steel profiles or concrete plates. The fall arrest device and the reeling drum are fixed to this fixing plate.

• The structure where the Letcart is anchored to shall be dimensioned to support a vertical force equal to 8 times the nominal load.
• Fall arrest speed 18 m/min.

• Operation can be tested at any time by closing the jaw manually through the emergency button.
