Lifting Shackles with Captive Nut

Sometimes shackles are not used for just lifting applications but also for more permanent constructions.

These can be subject to dynamic loads and/or extreme vibrations. In such applications, there is a risk that, over time, the nut starts moving over the thread and becomes loose.

To avoid this risk, we offer a range of Green Pin Fixed Nut Shackles.

Green Pin Standard, Polar and Super shackles can be equipped with a feature that consists of an extra AISI 316 (stainless steel) securing bolt, which is drilled through the nut and shackle pin.

This securing bolt is fastened with two sets of Nord-Lock washers (which lock when subjected to extreme vibration or dynamic loads) and a securing nut. This will keep the shackle nut safely in position.
