The Yale CPV electric hoist is Yale's best-selling chain hoist. It has held this title for many years. This is because of its modern design and technical improvements. Its strong and durable design makes it a useful tool for many professional tasks.
The built-in limit switch helps control the highest and lowest hook positions. This feature greatly improves the lifespan of the slip clutch, motor, and gearbox. As a result, it boosts efficiency in your lifting operations.
The difference is quite simple. The Yale CPV hoist is a single-speed 400V electric hoist. The Yale CPVF electric chain hoist or CPV/F has two speeds: one fast and one slow. This makes the CPVF better for positioning tasks that need a slower speed.
What the lifting speeds are depends on the hoist's capacity.
For example, the 1-tonne single fall unit has two lifting speeds. Its fast speed is 8 m/min, and its slow speed is 2 m/min. The 2-tonne CPVF has a fast speed of 4 m/min and a slow speed of 1 m/min.
In this case, the 1-tonne, 1-fall unit lifts at half the speed of the 2-tonne, 2-fall unit. This happens because the base unit is the same. However, Yale change the bottom hook block to a 2-tonne hook.
This change enables the reeving of the load chain back to the hoist body. As a result, the 1-tonne, 1-fall unit effectively becomes a 2-fall unit that doubles its capacity. But this also means that the lifting speed decreases to half.
Looking at the table on the Technical Specifications tab above, you will see other instances of this. e.g. 250kg 1-fall is also the base unit for the 500kg 2-fall version (again with the bottom hook block replaced with a 0.5t one).

Yale chain hoists convince owners and operators alike through their compact, elegant design, low tare weight and robust construction.
A precision-machined, case-hardened load chain sheave fits perfectly with the load chain. An oil-bath lubricated gearbox has hardened gears and high-quality encapsulated bearings. This design ensures smooth and quiet operation.
The adjustable slip clutch is designed as a safety device. It requires little maintenance and protects against overruns at both high and low load hook positions.
The pendant control is fitted with an emergency-stop switch as standard.
Forged suspension and load hooks, manufactured from non-ageing, high alloy tempering steel, yield under overload instead of breaking.
Apart from the stationary configurations (hook suspension), manual push, geared and electric trolleys are available. The trolleys are suitable for all commercial beam profiles e.g. INP, IPE and IPB.
The electric trolleys are fitted with a self-braking worm gearbox. The surface-protected, high-strength load chains meet national and international standards (DIN EN 818).
Alternative Yale electric hoists come in different sizes. They can lift up to 10 tonnes. You can choose from various operating voltages and special features. Additionally, there are many brands of electric hoist from well-known global makers and new companies.
Important: Yale hoists and trolleys are not made for lifting people. Do not use them for this purpose.
