The Reid Porta-Davit Quantum is a rapidly deployable, lightweight davit arm for heavy lifting and lowering of goods and personnel.

Weighing from just 18.5kg when fully assembled (excluding accessories - winches, self-retracting lifelines, hoist etc.), the davit can be manually operated by one person while maintaining a lifting capacity of up to 500kg (250kg personnel) for the PDQ2 or 600kg (300kg personnel) for the PDQ1.

Davit Configurations

The Porta-Davit Quantum [PDQ] is available in a strop or winched version for use with a range of lifting equipment.

The PDQ can be used with a wide range of lifting appliances, enabling customers to tailor their lifting solution to site and job specific requirements. This flexibility enables customers to utilise existing lifting appliances in many cases, enabling efficient use of assets.

  • Manual winches can be mounted onto the davit column or backstay (winch ready version only - strop version cannot be used with winches), with cables feeding through sheaves to the front of the davit.
  • Manual or electric chain hoists can be hooked from the shackles on the head of the PDQ.
  • Endless winches (e.g. Tractel Minifor, Tractel Tirak or Yale MTrac Endless Winch) can be hooked from the shackles on the head of the PDQ for raising goods over greater distances.

REID offer a wide range of brackets to enable common winches from major manufacturers to be attached to the PDQ column or backstay. Please contact us for more information.

The Reid Porta-Davit Quantum is a rapidly deployable, lightweight davit arm for heavy lifting and lowering of goods and personnel.
