A specifically developed and easy-to-use fall arrest self-retracting lifeline with a built-in auto-descending function to offer fall protection and rescue in one.
Working similarly to a car safety belt, during normal use, the user can move freely while the galvanised steel cable lifeline is kept under permanent tension. This device functions in the same way as a conventional fall arrest block. Once the fall has been arrested, the device immediately begins to lower the user to the ground at a constant speed of 0.9m/sec.
Certified to EN360 and EN341 and with an integral controlled descent mechanism, these Aluminium housed Fall Arrest Blocks are sturdy and low maintenance and available with a 9m, 18m or 30m steel rope lifeline. The snaphook with a fall indicator, installed in the retractable fasteners, shows the user whether the device has been encumbered by a fall, thus making a check necessary.
It should be noted that this Fall Arrest Block is CE marked against EN341 under the PPE Directive and should be treated as such and NOT as lifting equipment.
Service and inspection requirements for this fall arrest block are that it should be inspected and function checked by a trained competent person on a regular basis, as deemed by a risk assessment for the environment in which it is used and frequency of use, but at least every 6 months. Additionally, every 12 months it should be returned to Selby Engineering for a Full Service, when it will be tested under workshop conditions and re-certificated as laid down by the manufacturer.

| Caution must always be used when employing devices that incorporate an automatic lowering function. Assessment of the cable length required and the ground/landing zone conditions MUST be made prior to use. |
