With the increased number of solar panels being installed, combined with the growing number of HVAC and other installations located on roofs, there is a strong increase in the number and frequency of people requiring access to roofs that were barely visited in the past. This often requires a different approach to safety.
Organisations have a legal responsibility to protect their employees from harm. The Working at Height Regulations require that a risk assessment should always consider how work at height can be avoided. When this is not possible, collective measures, including guardrails, working platforms or nets, should always take priority over Personal Fall Protection Equipment (PFPE).
The Tractel Guard Trac™ Plus is a barrier / safety rail modular system very similar to the more basic Tractel Guard Trac™, however the 'Plus' system is certified to both EN 13374-A:2019 and the EN ISO 14122-3:2016. To look at there is hardy any difference other than an additional bracing in the middle of the barrier section, which allows for the additional certification.
