The Reid PortX Tripod features a tool-free assembly system that enables quick setup in seconds, helping reduce installation time and maximise productivity on site.
Self-locking legs, single-pin height adjustment and tethered pins make deployment straightforward while helping prevent the loss of components. The Reid Universal Bracket allows winches and self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) to be fitted using just two pins, making equipment changes quick and simple while minimising downtime.
Manufactured with high-grade anodised aluminium, the Reid PortX Tripod combines strength, durability and corrosion resistance for reliable performance in demanding working environments.
Aluminium is particularly well suited to applications where equipment is exposed to moisture, chemicals and harsh weather conditions. From water and wastewater facilities to demanding construction sites, its durable, corrosion-resistant properties help maintain long-term performance and a professional finish, even with regular use in challenging environments.
The Reid PortX Tripod is designed for flexibility, allowing operators to configure the equipment to suit different site conditions and application requirements.
Three integrated sheaves in the tripod head allow winches or SRLs to be positioned across the tripod's legs. Combined with the Reid Universal Bracket system, this enables equipment to be transferred quickly between positions without complicated assembly. The result is a versatile tripod system that can be reconfigured easily for confined space access, rescue and fall protection applications, helping operators adapt to changing site requirements while maintaining efficient working practices.
Unlike many conventional tripod systems, the Reid PortX Tripod incorporates dedicated goods lifting points directly into the tripod head, allowing a compatible conventional chain hoist with a lifting capacity of up to 500kg to be attached without additional brackets or accessories.
Confined space operations often require tools, materials and equipment to be lowered into or retrieved from restricted work areas alongside personnel access and rescue equipment. Integrated lifting points simplify this process by removing the need for separate attachment components, reducing setup time and minimising the risk of missing parts or incorrect assembly.
With three dedicated lifting positions available, the PortX Tripod offers additional flexibility when configuring equipment for goods handling and light lifting tasks. All lifting arrangements must remain within the manufacturer's specified capacities and approved configurations.
Weighing just 19kg, the Reid PortX Tripod is designed for easy handling, transportation and positioning on site.
Its lightweight aluminium construction makes it easier for a single operator to carry the tripod between storage areas, service vehicles and confined space work locations. This helps reduce manual handling effort and operator fatigue, particularly where equipment needs to be moved frequently, without compromising the strength and durability required for demanding working environments.
The Reid PortX Tripod features eight height adjustment positions, providing a working height range from 1,464mm to 2,203mm to accommodate different site conditions and overhead restrictions.
Confined spaces and restricted access areas often present challenges where maximum tripod height cannot be achieved due to obstructions or limited headroom. The PortX Tripod's adjustable design allows operators to select a suitable height for the available working space, helping to optimise equipment positioning for access, rescue, fall protection and lifting applications.
This flexibility makes the PortX Tripod a practical solution for sites where working conditions and available clearance can vary, providing adaptable equipment positioning across a wide range of applications.
