Davit Arm Jib Cranes
Davit arms for lifting are very similar to a jib cranes; they are made to order and therefore are usually manufacture red to customers dimensions / specification. Our davit arms are generally portable though are also often permanently installed. Most lifting davits are used outdoors and therefore are usually galvanised and can be used for lifting equipment (materials) and people (manriding and rescue from height) dependant on your request at time of order.
- As with our swing jib cranes, our lifting davit arms are made to order to the specifications. Some of the more commonly ordered size davit arms may be available ex-stock. Lead time is usually only 2-3 weeks for specials.
- We offer 2 main types of davit arm, these are lean-over type and vertical type, though many variations on these design including davits specifically designed for use on offshore wind turbine farms where we apply a heavy duty galvanised finish.
1 Leanover Type Davit Arms
Lifting Davit arm jib cranes can be built to your personal specification to meet your lifting needs.
- Lifting davit arms are highly portable, they can be used across many sites, and are easily transportable because they are lightweight.
- Height of lift, reach (radius), socket type, construction material, galvanisation grade and attached lifting equipment can be configured to suit the user.

2 Vertical Type Davit Arms
As with all of our lifting davit arms, our vertical type davits can be configured to the specific requirments of specific customers.
- Vertical lifting davits can be extremley useful where there is an obstruction which must be worked around, as the vertical davit means that a live load can be moved around obstructions and then lifted/lowered as required.
- All aspects of our vertical davit cranes are customizable, including the height, reach, capacity and, if required; sockets and lifting equipment.
4 Socket Mounted Jib Cranes
Our portable socket mounted workshop swing jib crane is used in circumstances where many sockets can be used to provide a stable anchorage point; a single portable crane can be transported from one workstation to the other.
- Provides the same lifting arm / jib as the other styles of floor crane without the mobility though not requiring the obstruction of front facing legs or counter weight for stability.
- The jib has Full rotation through 360 degrees.
- Heavy Duty Construction, offering capacities (safe working loads) of 500kg or 1000kg. Special SWL's or sizes available on request.
- Variety of designed sockets that use heavy duty bearings for easy rotation, multiple sockets can be positioned around a workshop allowing one jib to be moved between the sockets - providing an economical lifting solution.
- Very high quality hydraulic portable swing jib crane system, all British manufactured, CE certified.
5 Portable Cantilever Davit Arms
This category contains portable (movable) lifting davit arm's, designed to perform the same task as the standard lifting davit except they do not require (or use) an installed socket for support, they use counterbalanced weights and is therefore are self supporting. A free standing davit arm is not fixed to a supporting structure because the counterbalanced weight and design provide stability and this enables it to self support the weight being lifted.
