Hoist Features
Advanced Digital Series man rated hoists are available as powered (electric / pneumatic etc..) with manual back-up handle or totally manual operation (hand cranked); they are rated for a maximum working load of 450 lbs / 204 kg with an 11:1 safety factor. All hoists have two lifting speeds capable for retrieval / descent from 4-9 metre per minute. Advanced Digital Winches are available in 3 drum sizes of up to 88 metre (290 ft) working height. All cable / rope assemblies come with a double locking swivel snap hook with overload indicator.
Powered Lifting
Powered versions of the Sala (UCL) Advanced hoist are supplied with a power drive socket / hub to provide effortless lifting and lowering which is especially welcome on the greater heights of lift. An overload protection clutch installs between this power drive hub and an electric or pneumatic drill to eliminate to raise and lower the person working at height; this interface prevents overloading the winch during retrieval / lifting or lowering. All powered hoists are also fitted with a second hub / socket to which a handle is fitted to provide a back-up in the event of a power failure.
Man Riding? - Don't Forget Fall Arrest and Rescue!
When manriding (suspended working at height) it is highly recommended that the davit system should incorporate the use of a fall arrest inertia reel. The inertia reel should have an integrated rescue winch (a retriever block). This provides the user with a fall arrest and rescue plan; therefore complying with the UK 'Working at height directive 2005.
Digital Usage Indicator
The exclusive “digital usage indicator” system counts the revolutions of the drum to determine service intervals. Additional standard features include a braking system with 3 independent working pawls, centrifugal back-up brake, carrying handle and cable retainer spring.
Compliant Hardware
Double locking swivel safety snaps standard on all cables. Sealed bearings at all contact points. All hardware is Zinc plated. All components are zinc-plated steel or anodized aluminum - these man rated hoists are truly 'Top of the Range'.
