Blocmat 250

A load arresting device for loads up to 250kg and designed along the same principle as the Blocfor range, self reeling with a contrifugal locking mechanism to quickly arrest a falling object.

Blocmat Load Arrestors

The Blocmat is designed to protect equipment, such as lighting trusses, roller shutter door and machinery, from the effects of a fall. The blocmat is used as a secondary safety device to arrest the load following unexpected failure of the primary load bearing system.

Function:

The load arrestor blocmat 250 has been designed to secure suspended loads. Should the load fall down, then the blocmat will hold the load in suspension.

Description and principal of use:

The blocmat 250 is a retractable load arrestor. The length of the wire rope is adjusted automatically by a tensioning and retracting system. The locking function is provided by two catches which engage in a ratchet wheel by the operation of centrifugal force caused by the acceleration of the load. The function which absorbs the shock when the load is stopped is provided by a multi disc braking system. the blocmat 250 is attached to a structure through a connector or a fixing bracket for the tube Ø 52 mm. The blocmat must be reconditioned immediately by an authorised person after a fall arrest. A non sparking version is available as an option.

• The structure where the blocmat 250 is anchored to shall be dimensioned to support a vertical force of 40kn.
