Protect personnel and critical components The PROTECTA JRG Load Arrestor is ideal for use as a back up safety device in conjunction with lifting equipment such as cranes and hoists. The JRG Load Arrestor has been specifi cally designed as a cost effective and compact unit for applications up to 300kg. It is ideal for building, construction and factories where heavy parts have to be handled and secured, and where traditional load arrestors are far too costly and oversized.
The minimum temperature is -5 degrees C and the maximum temperature is 100 degrees C.
Back-up Protection The Load Arrestor provides independent protection that will arrest the fall of a load in the event of the primary system failing. Being completely independent of the primary lifting system, it reduces the risk of equipment damage and protects personnel in and around the danger zone. Note: This device is used for arresting material loads only, it is not intended for personnel use.
Engineered for Added Safety The Load Arrestor is engineered to completely stop a dropping load. In the event of a failure of the primary lifting device that allows the load to fall or descend too quickly, the arrestor senses a descent speed in excess of 1-1.5 metres per second and automatically engages an internal inertia-activated mechanical brake that acts on the rope drum. This decelerates and stops the lowering of the suspended load within approximately 1.25m and absorbs the shock forces. Note: This device should be sent to an accredited service agent following a fall for re-certification.
Easy Operation The Load Arrestor is installed adjacent to the primary lifting device and fixed to a suitable anchorage point. Its retractable steel cable is then secured to the load. The wire rope is attached to the arrestor via an internal spring loaded drum that keeps the rope under a constant light tension yet allows unrestricted movement of the protected load.
About the 'Mini' Load Arrestor
The 300kg rated robust 'Mini Load Arrestor' is ideal for use as a backup safety device to be used in conjunction with lifting equipment, arresting a fall in the event the primary lifting system failure. Specifically designed as a cost effective and compact unit for applications up to 300kg; ideal where the where the rest of the range of traditional load arrestors are far too costly and oversized.
The ‘Mini’ Load Arrestor is installed adjacent to the primary lifting device and fixed to a suitable anchorage point. Its retractable steel cable is then secured to the load. The wire rope is attached to the arrestor via an internal spring loaded drum that keeps the rope under a constant light tension yet allows unrestricted movement of the protected load. The SELS412/300 can be used out of doors.
General
Load arrestors sense descent and automatically engages an internal inertia-activated mechanical brake that acts on the rope drum. This decelerates and stops the lowering of the suspended load within the specified distance and absorbs the shock forces, both on the material being dropped and on the mechanics of the load arrestor / anchorage point.
Note: This device should be sent to an accredited service agent following a fall and at fixed periods (dependant on the number of cycles) for re-certification.

More Information
The AD412/300 is a load arrestor which immediately brakes and arrests the fall of a load. It is used as a safety device in tandem with the main equipment supporting the load (winch, sling…) in order to prevent its failure (cable breakage, for example). The AD412/300 is connected to the structure above the load to be made safe and always vertical to it. If the load must be moved horizontally (e.g.: bridge crane), the load arrestor must be integral to the moving structure in order always to remain vertical to the load.
The load can therefore be moved in the axis vertical to the load arrestor.
In fact, a return spring allows the cable on the device to wind in and out effortlessly in order to follow the mass in its vertical movement and guarantee that the cable always remains under tension.
The load is connected to the fall indicator on the AD412/300. In the event of a fall, the cable which is under tension very quickly reaches a speed higher than 1.5 m / s.
At this speed, ratchets operating by inertia will lock into a sprocket and engage a brake disc. The latter quickly brakes the load, reducing the impact stress on the equipment, and arrests it definitively in less than 1 m.
The AD412/300 is a load arrestor
- Light
- Can be connected directly thanks to its top handle for greater facility thanks to the carabiner with large gate opening: 50 mm
- Robust thanks to the material from which its shock-proof housing is made, which also is fitted with a fall indicator providing information as to whether or not the device has arrested a fall
- The AD412/300 can be used out of doors.
Installation
The AD412/300 must be used vertically and must be connected vertical to the load.
The structure to which it is to be connected must have a resistance of 15 kN minimum.
Before installing the AD412/300, check that there will always be a clearance of at least 1.4 m under the load and that the vertical movement speed of the load will not exceed 35 m / min.
Installation out of doors is possible.
The necessary precautions must be taken in order that, in the event of a fall, the load can be made safe and raised by 10 cm in order to disengage the fall arrestor. Below is a diagram of the contraindications for installation:
