Robot Tracked Vehicle upto 250kg SWL at hook
Model: RTV-2588Prototype Robotic Tracked Vehicle. 24v Electric Powered All Terrain Counterbalance Floor Crane.

24v Electric Powered All Terrain Counterbalance Floor Crane, Prototype Robotic tracked motorised vehicle.
At SELS Ltd we have carried out an immense amount research into this project and are now looking for partners to further develop the potential of this affordable military tracked robot. Now that the research has been carried out and all the component parts have been sourced we are obviously keen to target this massively growing market; SELS Ltd have the ability to provide a military robot at a fraction of prices currently being paid.
Note: The pictures shown are our artists impression only and are only indicative of our capability. (for display purposes only) All cranes are made individually and the the design may be subject to change according to your required specification; the pictures are not to scale, general arrangement drawings will be issued for approval on receipt of your order.
Specifications:
- Rough terrain capability. Capable of travelling over rough terrain and travelling over a kerb. Theoretically capable of climbing up a 40 degree gradient (flight of stairs), to be proved on testing.
- 2 x 180mm wide rubber drive tracks (non-marking options will be available at extra cost).
- Overall width 700mm to fit through a 30in door way.
- 2 x 24 volt 3000 rpm, 1.1kw DC motors with 90 deg 100:1 reduction gearboxes to give excellent torque @ 195Nm torque with independent speed controllers to be fitted for each motor and gearbox. 4 x motors fitted to vehicles with greater weight carrying requirements.
- Approx 3 Mph maximum speed. Variable speed for precise, controlled movement. Can now be adjusted with an interchangeable gearbox eg. 50:1 making it faster though with less torque.
- 2 x AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) 66 Ah batteries, Maintenance free, heavy duty, deep cycle & fully spill proof to 180 deg. Minimum expected operational time of 1 hour (to be confirmed).
- External microprocessor battery charger for safe charging when not in use. Ensuring the batteries will be fully charged when the robot is required.
- Skid steer control drive for ultimate manoeuvrability.
- 1 x 24 volt power hydraulic lifting, grabbing or other functions.
- As a counterbalanced crane the tracked vehicle utilises a telescopic vertical column for compact storage with a lift height of approx 2000mm (manufactured to customers requirements) with a 3 position horizontal jib adjustment with a safe working load of up to 250 KG at the lifting hook. The Jib arm is adjusted manually, though can be provided with remote control hydraulic adjustment at extra cost. The jib arm is fixed to the crane though can be designed to be removable; thus, can be interchangeable with different lengths of jib arm / accessories.
- Also available with a manipulator lifting arm using a hydraulic / electric grab.
- With no attachments or counterweights fitted to the tracked vehicle the ‘flat bed’ will be capable of carrying loads up to 1000kg over rough terrain or up stairs.
- A radio remote control system could be fitted to suit the customer’s requirements. To be added at extra cost dependant on the Robots application (fire Brigade / Para Military etc...)
- This Robot Crane could be used by the Fire Brigade use and is capable of dragging a 200 metre empty water hose; however the counterweight holding compartment could be a sealed box for use as a 250ltr water storage tank. This will be of use in Para military applications as there will be no need to haul a hose. Eliminating the need to locate a suitable water supply (location and volume) and the risk of snagging the hose. For larger applications we can offer a towed 1000 litre water bowser on wheels or powered tracks. Carrying the water on-board will provide a means for guaranteed water supply to which chemical agents can be added to suppress a 'Dirty Bomb'Baffles would need to be fitted to water storage compartments and the carrying of water would affect rough terrain capability and may require more powerful motors and lower gearing.
- Hydraulic systems safety hose burst valves will be fitted to the UK manufactured hydraulic lifting system.
- Further development is possible using the Robotic tracked principle. For example; fitting a clamp to the end of the horizontal lifting arm to clamp onto an acetylene cylinder, then rotate and lower the cylinder. We also encourage end user lead development.
- Designed and manufactured in the UK.
- Spark proof features can be incorporated according to the customer’s requirements for use in Hazardous Zones(EX), for example manufactured from stainless steel. Contact our sales department with your requirements for a quotation.
- Wireless CCTV monitoring systems can be provided to your customers requirements, though specification and operational range massively effect price.
- Wireless remote data transfer can be incorporated into the Robot, again to suit the customer’s requirements and at additional cost.
- To enable our Robot Crane to be 'Emergency ready' for immediate deployment we can supply complete with a bespoke trailer.
- We will also be offering a world-wide end user, certified training programme.
The Picture below is an Example of this product

Floor Cranes With Spark Resistant Features / Explosion proof.
For Floor cranes to be used in potentially explosive areas / atmospheres such as Zone 1 or 2, SELS can include any anti-sparking features that our customers specify - this will increase its anti-sparking properties and therefore make the crane more suitable for use in a potentially explosive environment!
SELS will not to take the responsibility of supplying our floor cranes described as 'spark proof' as this is ‘too broad’ a term. We believe that total compliance is probably impossible because of the mechanical operation and movement of a floor crane; i.e. we cannot offer a 100% guarantee that no part of the assembly is capable of generating a spark which could ignite a flame! IE: SELS will supply / manufacture cranes with anti sparking features to our customer’s requirements though will not certified them as sparkproof / explosion proof. Our cranes have been successfully supplied to customers in the offshore Oil and Gas industry in the UK on this basis.
