FLEX Crane Remote Control Systems For Electric Hoists.
IR Inferred Remote Crane Control Systems for electric chain and wire rope hoists. .
RCC-989
Unfortunately the FLEX remote control range are no longer available. Please see our other radio remote controls for a possible alternative.
The FLEX radio remote control systems are designed for control of industrial equipment and machinery such as overhead traveling cranes, jib cranes, gantry cranes, tower cranes, electric hoists, winches, monorails, conveyor belts, mining equipment and other material handling equipment where wireless control is preferred.
Each FLEX system consists of a transmitter handset and receiver unit. Other standard-equipped accessories include transmitter waist belt, spare transmitter power key, clear vinyl pouch, "AA" alkaline batteries, compass direction decal sheet and user's manual.
List of notable features include:
- 62 user-programmable channels - Advanced synthesized RF controls with 62 built-in channels, no more fixed channel and fragile quartz crystals to break.
- Automatic channel scanning receiver - No more hassle of climbing up the crane to change receiver channels.
- Over one million unique ID codes (20bit) - Each and every Flex system has its own unique ID codes and serial number, never repeats.
- Advanced controls - The Flex system utilizes advanced microprocessor controls with 32bit CRC and Hamming Code, which provide ultra fast, safe, precise, and error-free encoding and decoding.
- Unique I-CHIP design - The I-CHIP functions in a way that is very similar to SIM card used on mobile phones, with the ability to transfer system information and settings from one transmitter to another without the hassle of resetting the spares.
- Reliable push buttons - The in-house designed push buttons with gold-plated contacts are rated for more than one million press cycles.
- Low power consumption - Requires only two "AA" Alkaline batteries for more than 60 hours of operating time between replacements.
- Ultra-durable nylon and fiberglass composite enclosures - Highly resistance to breakage and deformation even in the most abusive environments.
- Full compliance - All systems are fully complied with the FCC Part-15 Rules, European Directives (Safety, EMC, R&TTE) and Industry Canada Specifications (IC).
What is flEX

- Unique I-CHIP Design - The I-CHIP functions in a way that is very similar to SIM card used on mobile phones, with the ability to transfer system information and settings from one transmitter to another without the hassle of resetting the spares.
- Full System Compatibility - All components (software & hardware) are fully compatible regardless of different type models, which minimized the need for large inventory of spare parts.
- Reliable Push Buttons - The in-house designed push buttons with gold-plated contacts are rated for more than one million press cycles. The defined snap-action steps provide positive tactile feedbacks even when wearing gloves.
- Low Power Consumption - The transmitter only requires two "AA" alkaline batteries for more than 100 hours of operation.
- Durable & Rugged Enclosures - The transmitter and receiver enclosures are manufactured from industrial-strength nylon and fiberglass composite materials that are highly resistant to breakage and deformation even in the most abusive environments.
- Sealed & Chemically Resistant Enclosures - The IP-66/NEMA-4X rated transmitter and receiver enclosures are also highly resistant to dirt, liquid, acid, alkali, grease and oil penetration.
- Abundant Programmable Functions - The FLEX system is equipped with more than 200 user-programmable functions to suit all types of applications, no external programming device required.
- Pitch & Catch Operation - This function allows 2 operators controlling a crane from opposite ends of a long or cross travel.
- Tandem Operation - This function allows 2 operators controlling 2 cranes independently and simultaneously.
- Random Access Operation - This function allows 3 operators randomly controlling 3 cranes on a first come-first served basis.
- Pre-Wired Output Cable - FLEX 4ES/EX and 8ES/EX models are standard-equipped with a pre-wired output cable.
- Full Compliance - All systems are fully complied with the FCC Part-15 Rules, European Directives (Safety, EMC, R&TTE) and Industry Canada Specifications (IC).
The transmitter is always the part that gets damaged in service...
- The flex transmitter and receiver housing is manufactured from a nylon fibeglass composite unlike the more commonly used ABS housing - this material is significantly more durable and stronger than ABS even in the most abusive environments with excellent resistance to chemicals, acid etc.
- The transmitter module has no fixed frequency channel or quartz crystal components to be damaged by using synthesised RF Components
- Purpose designed switching elements suitable for over 1 million operations with no fragile ribbon connections.
- Tough serviceable purpose designed emergency stop and key switches
And the features of the receiver unit...
- Housing manufactured from the same tough nylon composite as the transmitter
- Supplied with resilient mounts
- Internal aerial with option of external antenna.
- Supplies available 12/24 VDC, 24-48 VAC, 110 - 460 VAC
- Internal relays generously rated at 10 amps capacity - other systems having relays rated at 5 amps capacity or less.
- Fully enclosed and sealed, IP66 rated.
- Supplied with 2.0 m of multi-core connection cable with compression gland, with option for multi-pin connection (Harting or similar).
- Smaller compact receiver for the 4 pushbutton system.
