Miller "Barracuda" Elasticated Fall Arrest Lanyard with Unique Scaffold Clamp. - 0.7 - 1.75m, Various Styles
Model: Miller Barracuda / BL-2569Scaffolder's Fall Arrest Manyards or Rope Lanyards with Barracuda Scaffold Clamp. Complies to EN355 and EN795.
The ultimate fall protection solution for scaffolders
This is the only practical fall arrest system for vertical scaffolding tubes. Significantly enhances the safety of workers erecting, dismantling and altering scaffolding.
General Features:
The barracuda scaffold clamp will grip a vertical scaffold tube, unsupported by hand as high as the user can reach, if a fall occurs the Jaws of the clamp will bite harder holding the Barracuda fall arrest scaffold clamp in its position. This will therefore result in massively reducing fall distance and the consequences of the fall.- Jaw system with clamp teeth
- Stainless steel connecting device
- Compact and handy grip for use with one hand
- Polypropylene grip
- Lightweight
- Fit for use with scaffolding tubes from 48.3 to 50mm
Safer
Designed to grip onto vertical scaffolding tubes with a diameter of 48.3 to 50mm, the BarracudaTM is the only practical system that allows anchorage above waist height, thus significantly reducing the fall arrest forces from a fall and consequently the risk of injury.
Easy-to-use
The innovative anchorage clamp is easily fitted using one hand thus allowing the scaffolder to keep one hand free for carrying tools or for steadying themselves whilst working.
Greater mobility
The anchorage point above waist height rather than below the feet offers the scaffolder a greater working area and leads to greater productivity.
Example of how the Barracuda can reduce injury and probably eliminate the need for a rescue after a fall:
- Working length of the Barracuda is 1.75 metre.
- Fall distance will be potentially reduced by approx 1 metre by connecting the Barracuda as high as you can onto the vertical scaffold tube.
- Potential fall distance is now approx only 0.75 metre
- Falling such a small distance will mean that the worker will not drop a great enough distance to fall from his working platform, thus the probability is that no injury .
- Using a conventional scaffold hook and the highest anchorage point being a hand rail or even at foot level there would be a potential ‘fall distance’ of approximately 5metres, i.e., 1.5m (harness to scaffold hook) + 1.75m (length of lanyard) + 1.75m (lanyard extending, absorbing shock). The result would then be serious personal injury required a technical rescue and the possibility of suspension trauma.
