Tractel Rope Guided Fall Arrestors

The Stopfor KSM, is the Stopfor K version ensuring correct mounting of the device on the rope, in the proper direction, by its upside-down mounting prevention system integrated in the device and allowing movement along the rope by intentional manual action on the device. Unlike the Stopfor K for which movement along the rope takes place in accordance with the user’s movement, the Stopfor KSM, with reinforced cam spring stays in position on the rope so long as it has not been released by the user.
The Stopfor KSM is made of aluminium. It is lightweight, robust, ergonomic and compact. The Stopfor KSM connects to all the harness fall arrest anchorpoints, either by a type M10 connector or by a short 30 cm lanyard.

The STOPFOR K is a sliding fall arrester (which can also be used as a new-generation lanyard tensioner-reducer). When used as a fall arrester, it can be used with 10.5 to 12.5 mm diameter low-stretch rope. The Stopfor K is a new fall arrest concept. Unlike fall arresters implementing a jaw as locking system, the Stopfor K eliminates the risk of mechanical blocking. Blocking is ensured by the body when an abrupt change of position occurs. For this reason, the unit is more ergonomic and compact than its competitors and slides easier on the rope with no excessive locking. By its unique design, the user can adjust his position with one hand, even if the device is tensioned.
The unit can be opened to allow the user to perform maintenance on the product with no need to disassemble the tensioner.

The Stopfor KS, is the version of the Stopfor K, which ensures correct mounting of the device on the rope. The "KS" is the same as the "k" though with an additional safety feature being that the "KS" cannot be mounted on the rope upside-down. The Stopfor K product line (K – KS – KM – KSM) is made of aluminium. They are light weight, robust, ergonomic and compact. The Stopfor devices connect to all the harness fall arrest anchor points, either by a type M10 connector or by a short 30 cm lanyard. Installation of the rope is fast and easy : after removing the connector, the two side plates are pivoted to open and the rope is placed in position. To close the Stopfor, the two side plates are pivoted in the closing direction and the connector is installed and serves as safety lock.

The STOPFOR™ B is a sliding fall arrester (which can also be used as a new-generation lanyard tensioner-reducer). When used as a fall arrester, it can be used with 12 to 14 mm diameter braided rope. The STOPFOR™ B is a new fall arrest concept. Unlike fall
arresters implementing a jaw as locking system, the STOPFOR ™ B eliminates the risk of mechanical blocking. Blocking is ensured by the body when an abrupt change of position occurs. For this reason, the unit is more ergonomic and compact than its competitors and slides easier on the rope with no excessive locking. The Stopfor AP is a component in a fall arrest system. It consists of a stranded rope, the sliding rope grab with automatic locking attached to the rope and a lanyard connecting the rope grab to the harness. The Stopfor AP has two tripping systems: the conventional system which operates by the swivelling of the operating lever, and the new “anti-panic” system. It also has a locking function. The Stopfor AP allows the user maximum mobility while providing total safety for work on a vertical plane. In the event of a fall, two separate tripping systems engage the jaw on the rope and stop the fall smoothly. With the conventional tripping system, the operating lever is free and swivels by the action of the force applied by the user via the lanyard with the new “anti-panic” system, if the lever is held.

The STOPFOR SK is a manual sliding fall arrester used with a rope. The STOPFOR SK is compact and ergonomic and is equipped with an energy absorber, for use on sloping planes, such as roofs. The STOPFOR SK is lightweight, compact and ergonomic and  is manufactured using high-strength cast aluminium. The device is moved along the rope by simply pressing on the jaw. In the event of a fall, the device automatically locks. The STOPFOR SK slide is equipped with an energy absorber fitted with a connector M12 at one end and a connector M13 at the other.

The STOPFOR M manual sliding textile rope grab is used to create a mobile anchor point on a textile rope. The Stopfor M is particularly suitable for work on sloping planes, for example on roofs. The STOPFOR M enables the user to anchor themself at their work position and work in total safety. Once he has completed his work he can return to a safe area by sliding the Stopfor M along the rope.

The Stopfor S is an individual, vertical, sliding fall arrest device. It ensures protection against falls when a user moves vertically along an anchorage line (textile rope), but provides  free vertical movement at normal speed. The housing may be opened by using the captive screw and flat bolt. Locking is due to the differential speed which engages an eccentric cam during the fall, between the user and the device on its support. The energy is absorbed by the lengthening of the support (>10%) and by the sliding movement along it. The device has a locking ring which prevents attachment to the support upside down. An arrow indicates the correct direction of movement and position for attachment to the support.
