Lifting Slings
Chain Slings and Webbing Slings
Lifting slings come in a variety of materials such as steel chain, stainless steel chain, wire rope (not yet online, call for more information), polyester, dyneema and super techlon to mention a few.
A lifting sling can provide a lightweight, flexible and portable solution for lifting and handling the most awkward of objects.
1 Chain Slings
Chain lifting slings can be supplied in grade 5 (50), grade 8 (80) or grade 10 (100) lifting chain.
Various end fittings are available on both alloy steel and stainless steel chains, such as shortening clutches, grab hooks, eye hooks, c-hooks, self locking hooks, d-shackles etc.
2 Webbing Slings
Round Slings and Flat Web Slings
Fibre lifting slings are available in two main types, flat web (belt sling) and round slings (endless sling).
- A flat web sling (webbing sling) is a type of lifting sling with an eye at each end, rather than never ending like a round sling.
- Round slings are lifting slings which are endless which means they potentially have the capability to double their safe working load when doubled over into a basket shape.
Specialist slings are also available such as dyneema and super techlon which have a high resistance feature.
